Wyclef Jean Got the Party Started at Tod’s Second Annual East Hampton Beach Dinner

-

Last night on a balmy East Hampton evening, a stylish group came together to celebrate Tod’s second annual East Hampton beach dinner. At a private residence nestled picturesquely next to the surf, guests kicked off the affair with cocktails and canapés while dressed to the nines in Tod’s latest collections. To be expected, there was a scattering of classic Tod’s loafers throughout. The dinner also marked the second season of the Tod’s boutique located in East Hampton at 47 Newtown Lane.

A selection of Italian fare was served for the dinner portion of the evening, but what followed after the first course was nothing short of spectacular. The musical guest of honor, Wyclef Jean, took the stage and welcomed the crowd with one important gesture: “Welcome to the matrix,” he declared. This matrix, however, led to only one outcome—a great time and an even greater dance party. Kelly Rowland was also in attendance, which sparked a Destiny’s Child sing-along for all. By the time the entrees were served, Wyclef dutifully asked the crowd to return to the seated dinner, but with promises of a glittering after-party.

Other guests included Derek Blasberg, Sasha Lane, Kathryn Newton, Kelly Rowland, Joey Wolffer, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Katie Lee, Jordan Roth, Isolde Brielmaier, Rachel Blumenthal, Neil Blumenthal, Lauren Santo Domingo, Gucci Westman, Natalie Massenet, Erik Torstensson, Colby Mugrabi, Quincy Davis, Rachelle Hruska Macpherson, Sean Macpherson, Sophie Elgort, Tina Marie Clark, Sai de Silva, Coco Bassey, amongst others.

Stealing a moment to chat with Kathryn Newton, who was in town for a brief stay before heading to New Orleans for a film, the Tod’s ambassador detailed how schoolgirls in her grade school affectionately wore Tod’s loafers, first introducing her to the Italian luxury brand. While still relatively new to working with the group, the actress expressed her excitement about the brand’s direction and all the things to come. “I’m just so excited,” she said while sporting a plaid skirt and top from Tod’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection.

Much to the guests’ delight, the evening ended similarly to how it began–with another epic performance by Wyclef and, of course, another dance party on the lawn.
