Pro-Abortion Ohio Democrats to Introduce ‘Contraception Begins at Erection Act’

0

Ohio Democrats are looking to make a statement in favor of killing unborn babies by abortion by introducing the “Contraception Begins at Erection Act.”

The bill, which will be introduced by Democrat state Reps. Anita Somani and Tristan Rader, would make it illegal for men to have sex without trying to create a child, Local12 reported. The bill is modeled after similar legislation introduced by Democrat Mississippi state Sen. Bradford Blackmon.

“Fair is fair, right?” Somani said in video posted to Bluesky. “If this legislature is so dedicated to regulating women’s bodies and their access to contraceptives and abortion care then let’s start policing men in the same way. After all, it does take two to tango, right?”

“Our bill would make it illegal to discharge semen or genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo,” she continued.

“If you find the language [in the bill] to be absurd, then maybe you should find any bill attempting to restrict reproductive freedoms absurd as well,” Rader added.

The bill is expected to make exceptions for contraceptives, people who say they are LGBTQ+, and for masturbation, according to the report.

Penalties for breaking the law are $1,000 for first offense, $5,000 for second offense, and $10,000 for further offenses.

Republicans maintain control of the governorship, House, and Senate in Ohio, so the bill is unlikely to gain traction. However, Ohioans did pass an amendment in 2023 making abortion a “right” in the state, and courts have since struck down laws limiting abortions earlier in pregnancy, citing the passage of the amendment.

Republican state Rep. Ron Ferguson told the Statehouse News Bureau that the bill does not make any sense and is “completely out of touch with what matters to everyday Americans.”

“We are talking about conception happening before a sperm fertilizes an egg. Clearly, somebody doesn’t understand simple biology,” Ferguson said.

Trump Revoking Security Clearances of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, Antony Blinken

President Donald Trump revealed that he is revoking the security clearances of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, according to a recent report.

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump revealed that Bragg, Blinken, and James would no longer have access to federal buildings. The stripping of the security clearances of Blinken, Bragg, and James comes after Trump announced that he had revoked former President Joe Biden’s security clearances, citing “no need” for Biden to “continue receiving access to classified information.”

“This is to take away every right they have [revoking security clearances] including they can’t go into [federal] buildings,” Trump explained.

Other people among the list of people Trump is reportedly planning to pull security clearances from include former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, who served under the Biden administration, according to the outlet.

The outlet noted that the stripping of James’ and Bragg’s security clearances “could hamper them in carrying out their official duties by prohibiting them” from being able to access courthouses:

But it could hamper them in carrying out their official duties by prohibiting them from entering courthouses, prisons, and law enforcement facilities in Foley Square in lower Manhattan, including the Thurgood Marshall and Daniel Patrick Moynihan courthouses, the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and the Jacob Javits Federal Building which houses the FBI’s New York field office.

They also will not be able to set foot in the US Attorney’s offices for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Robert Costello, the former lawyer for Michael Cohen, who testified in Trump’s business records trial, explained to the outlet that the stripping of the security clearances was “more an insult and a slap in the face than a real deterrent.”

JD Vance’s Half-Brother Cory Bowman Jumping Into Cincinnati Mayor’s Race

0

Vice President JD Vance’s half-brother, Cory Bowman, is running to be the next mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, noting that he wants to provide the people of Cincinnati with a choice to see “prosperity, growth, and joy.”

In a post on X from February 4, Bowman, a registered Republican who serves as the pastor of The River Church in Cincinnati, revealed that he needed to get between 500-1,000 signatures from registered voters in the city. Bowman also admitted that many people have warned him to “Get ready” because people “will come” for him, adding that he was “not sure who ‘they’ are.”

“I am officially announcing my candidacy for the position of Mayor of the City of Cincinnati in 2025,” Bowman wrote in his post. “Weeks ago, my flight touched down at CVG, returning home from the most monumental inauguration in my generation. When I landed, I knew the city where my family and I live and love cannot fall behind in the critical years ahead.”

“Many have told me ‘Get ready. They will come after you.’ I’m not sure who ‘they’ are or if ‘they’ are seeing this, but my heart is simply this… To provide a choice to the people of Cincinnati,” Bowman added. “A choice to see years of prosperity, growth, and joy in our amazing downtown. A population should never be complacent with how things are. They should have the choice to decide their own future.”

In an interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bowman, who is also the co-owner of Kings Arms Coffee, explained that he has “considered a role in local government as a way to give back to the city,” adding that seeing the inauguration of his brother and President Donald Trump “sparked more inspiration” for him to run for office.

“There’s nobody that cheered louder when he was getting sworn in than me, because he’s my brother,” Bowman explained.

Bowman, who shares the same father as Vance, described his brother as being “an incredible role model.”

“I don’t necessarily speak for my brother because he speaks pretty well for himself,” Bowman told the outlet. “And he’s doing well. “I will say that he’s an incredible role model of mine.”

The outlet noted that the last Republican who ran for mayor of Cincinnati was former Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH). Wenstrup, who ran in 2009, lost to his Democrat opponent.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Admits the Word ‘Diversity’ Politically Failed, Recommends New DEI Phrase: ‘Patriotic Pluralism’

0

It appears many on the left will continue to push DEI initiatives under the guise of “pluralism” and downplay the word “diversity,” a notable shift in language after the 2024 election.

The shift suggests the left is not prepared to acknowledge that voters soundly rejected DEI ideology with President Donald Trump’s landslide victory, a good sign for Republicans’ hopes of retaining the House and Senate in 2026.

“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake,” exiled French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte once said.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, a leading voice among Democrats, is one of the first to deploy the updated political wording. “There is a message of what I would call like common sense, patriotic pluralism,” Hayes told Bill Maher. “Pluralism is another word for diversity.”

“I think there is this sense in which there was this sort of backlash politics,” continued Hayes, acknowledging how conservatives exposed “diversity” as a buzzword for the woke agenda. “If we’re not going to use that one [diversity], let’s use pluralism.”

Hayes argued the shift in wording for the same woke ideology can help Democrats win elections. “That’s the thing that I think Democrats can win back a majority of message [with],” he explained.

Hayes applied the language of pluralism to his argument for laws allowing transgender mutilation.

“They should mind their own business,” he said of the opponents of transgenderism “If some father and mother have health care for their kid lined up who’s trans, just stay the fuck out of their business … Let them [parents] make that decision. That’s their decision to make, and you don’t have to make that for your family.”

“There’s a majority that understands that, like we all come from different places, and part of what makes this country work is we acknowledge and we negotiate those differences. And that’s the thing that I think Democrats can win back a majority of the message,” he added.

Political language is constantly changing. Before Trump’s political rise, for example, conservatives used the phrase “politically correct” to speak about what is now roundly referred to as woke or wokism.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis: Biden Admin Spent $8 Million Teaching Sri Lankan Journalists How to Avoid ‘Binary Gendered Language’

0

The Biden administration wasted $8 billion of taxpayer money teaching Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid “binary gendered language,” Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) said, listing a variety of ways American taxpayers’ dollars have been wasted.

“Here are some of the ways the last administration have wasted your money,” Lummis, a member of the DOGE caucus, began. “More than $4.5 million to combat disinformation in Kazakhstan. And just whose disinformation is it? I think that’s probably in the eye of the beholder.”

“$20 million for a new Sesame Street show in Iraq. $25 million for Deloitte to promote green transportation in the country of Georgia. Nearly $8 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid quote ‘binary gendered language.’ Binary gendered language in Sri Lanka — you’ve got to be kidding me,” she continued.

Another $5 million, she said, went to EcoHealth Alliance, “one of the key NGOs — non-government organizations — funding bat virus research at the Wuhan lab,” she revealed.

“$20 million for a group related, by the way, to a key player in the Russiagate impeachment hoax,” she said. “$1.5 million to rebuild the Cuban media ecosystem, [and] 1.5 million on DEI programs in Serbia — diversity, equity and inclusion programs in Serbia,” she emphasized.

The examples come to light as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, moves to slash government waste, saving American taxpayers millions of dollars. Already, DOGE noted that taxpayers have saved $1 billion with the termination of federal DEI contracts alone.

Millions more have been saved by terminating the leases of underutilized buildings, and much, much more. In an update on Thursday, DOGE noted that 78 contracts “were terminated for convenience across DEI, Non-Performing, Media, and Consulting categories, including one for ‘groundwater exploration and assessment in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.’”

“Approximately $110mm of total savings,” it added.

President Donald Trump made waves this week after freezing millions of dollars in United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funds for foreign media, as he put a “90-day hold on all USAID’s foreign aid this week,” Breitbart News reported.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Mason McTavish scored 59 seconds into overtime, and the Anaheim Ducks overcame a two-goal deficit in the final six minutes of regulation for a 5-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Friday night.

After Olen Zellweger tied it with 1:45 left, McTavish scored his 20th goal on Jackson LaCombe’s pass to finish a stirring comeback by the Ducks, who are all but certain to miss the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season.

Leo Carlsson had a goal and three assists in the former No. 2 overall pick’s first career four-point game for Anaheim. Cutter Gauthier scored the Ducks’ first goal in the third, and Alex Killorn got an early short-handed goal. Lukas Dostal made 27 saves.

J.T. Miller, Alexis Lafrenière and Adam Fox had a goal and an assist apiece for New York, which has lost five of six.

Mika Zibanejad scored a power-play goal in the third period. Igor Shesterskin stopped 28 shots.

Takeaways

Rangers: Collapse aside, they also missed the chance to leapfrog three teams into sole possession of the second wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They’re even with Columbus (75) and Montreal (75) and barely ahead of the Islanders (74), but all three teams have games in hand on the Rangers.

Ducks: Jacob Trouba faced New York for the first time since his trade to Anaheim in December. The former Rangers captain left in the third with an apparent injury.

Key moment

Four minutes after Gauthier started the rally with his rebound backhand with 5:48 left, the 21-year-old Zellweger finished an odd-man rush with a nasty shot right under the bar.

Key stat

Anaheim had just one short-handed goal in its first 70 games before connecting twice in two games, with Killorn following Carlsson’s shorty on Wednesday.

Up next

The Rangers visit the Sharks on Saturday. The Ducks host the Maple Leafs on Sunday.
