New Mexico’s governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, has declared the state a “reproductive safe haven.” Sandwiched between Arizona and Texas, New Mexico is preparing for battles to protect abortion patients and providers from legal action by those states. And one of the great Americana songwriters working today, Jason Isbell, speaks with The New Yorker’s John Seabrook, and plays some of his songs.
