Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has declared that social media companies should be held accountable for any harm done when anonymous users post “their vile rubbish” on their sites. “They’re publishers, not just platforms,” he said, referring to social media companies. Morrison made his remarks on Thursday ahead of his trip to the Group of 20 (G20) leaders summit in Rome, where he will urge world leaders to take up the issue with social media giants.
