To mark King Khan’s three decades in the Hindi film industry, let’s revisit some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most romantic dialogues.
KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI
Released in 1998, the romantic comedy Kuch Kuch Hota Hai became the highest-grossing Indian film of the year and the third highest-grossing Indian film at that time. Shah Rukh won hearts with his acting and his dialogue “Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai… aur pyaar bhi ek hi baar hota hai.”
VEER ZAARA
The 2004 period romantic drama Veer Zaara is considered one of SRK’s best films of all time. He delivered several heart-winning dialogues in the flick, but the one that remains the most popular is, “Sachi mohabbat zindagi main sirf ek baar hoti hai aur jab hoti hai, toh koi bhagwan ya khuda usse nakamayab nahi hone deta.”
DILWALE
Dilwale hit theatres in 2015. In the romantic comedy film, SRK once again impressed viewers. All thanks to the film’s story and Shah Rukh’s dialogue, “Dil toh har kisi ke paas hota hai, lekin sab Dilwale nahi hote.”
JAB TAK HAI JAAN
The 2012 romantic film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, emerged as one of the top earners of the year. Shah Rukh once again made everyone fall in love with him with the way he said his line, “Teri aankhon ki namkeen mastiyaan, teri hansi ki beparwah gustakhiyaan, teri zulfon ki lehraati angdaaiyaan, nahi bhoolunga main, jab tak hai jaan, jab tak hai jaan.”
MY NAME IS KHAN
If you are an ardent Shah Rukh Khan fan, there is no way you have not watched My Name Is Khan. Some of us go back to re-watch the film to see SRK say, “Mujhe darr toh bahut si cheezon se lagta hai… par sabse zyada darr tumhe kho dene ke khayal se lagta hai.”
DARR: A VIOLENT LOVE STORY
The 1993 romantic psychological thriller, Darr: A Violent Love Story, was a box office hit. While Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla made an impact with their acting prowess, Shah Rukh Khan stole the limelight with the way he delivered his line – “Sachchi mohabbat ko pehchanne ke liye aankhon ki nahi… dil ki zaroorat hoti hai.”
CHALTE CHALTE
Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji-starrer Chalte Chalte showed modern love and its issues. While SRK weaved magic throughout the film, we’re in love with his dialogue “Yaad rakhna ki duniya ke kisi kone mein koi khush hai, kyun ki tum khush ho.”
DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE
When talking about SRK’s romantic dialogues, there is no way that we won’t mention Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’s famous line – “Bade bade shehron mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai Senorita.”
OM SHANTI OM
Om Shanti Om is a romantic comedy film that was released in 2007. It was a huge commercial success and was loved by Shah Rukh Khan’s fans worldwide. Dialogue that we still remember from the film is, “Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki koshish ki hai. Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho, toh poori kainat tumhein usse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.”
